Selling Skirts too.

I'm also selling skirts HERE. I only have three of these though since I had less fabric left in the quarter I was working with from older prototypes i made. They fit both Ever after and Monster high dolls.

Selling shorts!

In order to help supplement my own meager income I've decided to start selling some doll clothes. First thing up are these shorts. Despite the picture I only have six to sell that you can get HERE

They fit both EAH and MH.

Repainted Draculaura

The first doll I've done a faceup on. She was a Draculaura from the original styles lineup where they don the same style at bargain bin prices and look it too. Seriously the skirt isn't pleated, the shirt is nothing but mesh and painted fabric. It looks similar but a fair bit uglier in my opinion. I'm waiting on some red hair from dolly hair for her reroot. Not bad for a first attempt but I'm gonna try to get better at it. Just thought she'd make a great practice doll for it.

Shoe painting

In a side thing, painting the shoes to bring out more of the detail is fun! A little brown paint and a silver pen looks like a huge improvement to me.

Used this painters brand pen for it. Some of the other ones have a smell that kicks me in the face but this one is great for folks with sensitive noses.

Madison Fear: Hair Day

In returning to catching up on this blog it was time for the reroot for Madison! I used Amethyst and Sea Nymph nylon hair from dolly hair.

I'm a bit too cheap to buy a rerooting tool so I'm using an improvised one of my exacto and a sewing needle clipped to fit. Also a little bit of craft foam helps keep the needle in place so it doesn't wiggle and break as often.

I ran a little bit short on the amethyst but the added hair still looks great to me. Not seen is the fabric glue in her head to help hold the hair in.

Now for reattachment and I was a fair bit nervous she'd get the dreaded bobble head.

Thankfully that didn't happen though and you'd never guess she'd had the thing ripped off. Now for some minor styling.

Some light conditioner in a twisted towel and bam, wavy lovely hair. She still needs a face and her legs restrung since I got some springs for it. Just keeping the springs from wearing apart while I string her is the issue. ; 3 ;

Madison Fear: Body Touch up

After spraying I kinda noticed I got more on the body than I really wanted (what I get for aiming a smidge too high). There was only one thing to do and that was bust the acetone back out.

Since acetone does melt plastic I watered it down with, well, water and scrubbed. Took a bit longer but for little to no damage the extra work was worth it.

There's a bit of staining still from the paint along with it being stuck in her model number but I can live with it. It was time for another round of paint, this time for her hands. The color is a mix of sienna and white to get it close as I could to Cleo's skin tone.

I didn't bother painting the joint this time but they look pretty good to me. Now for the tooth picks. Since the gorgon legs came from a CAM set they aren't really meant for the regular bodies.

 That's where the tooth pick there comes in. After breaking off the ends I hot glued it into the peg wells of the hips.There's something to be said as well for really pointy end tweezers.

I used elastic cord to at least keep the legs on her until I can figure out a better way to string them.

Madison Fear: Leg paint

First up in some over due posts I was working on Madison Fear a fair bit.

The gorgon legs came and all I had to do was remove Cleo's legs, paint the legs, then string them.

Since the Cleo I'm modifying is a newer one, with the legs held by plastic, I had to break them off. There was still some plastic so I drilled a hole through the joint space for stringing later.

Next up was paint. After some online digging Krylon seemed to be the best option. Ignore that glitter one though. Thanks to that thing I have to repaint the legs again still. Live and learn. I also decided to add a lil paint to the body as well for a fade effect, but we'll see that next post.

Here are the legs painted in their light blue glory. Even with needing the touch up I love the color and it matches pretty close to Madison's color. Just wish the sparkle paint would have worked out for added effect. Oh well.

One of my side projects in the past months was giving Toralei here a reroot. The hair she came in had a bad cause of box hair hot water wasn't fixing, not to mention it was greasy and unpleasant as all git to touch.

The combo colors for her hair I got from Dolly hair in Pomme D'amour and Firebird.

After tearing the hair out the strands were gradually added in. Unfortunately I'm missing a lot of the pictures I took during the process. TT3TT

After a hot water and conditioner treatment her hair looks great and much better to come my fingers through while styling.

Well I finished the bed but it didn't really turn out like I was hoping it would.

Came to regret using wood patterned contact paper. I though it would stick buuuuut it didn't very well. The top one is just where I gave up trying to cover the edges of the cartboard with it and left it bare.

The bedding fits though so I can't really complain. I'll probably try again later with patterned paper instead.  And more cardboard since it's a little too wobbly.... TTFN

 Lagoona says hi and good evening to everyone. She's sitting on the makeshift "bed" till I get hotglue sticks to finish the cardboard frame. Let me first just say I LOVE fat quarters. I can get lots of different fabric really cheap in a couple quarters. Anyway....

 The blanket itself is made from a lil owl print with felt for the "batting" inside.

 the mattress is made from an onsale overly fat quarter but unfortunately...

Due to the nature of the fabric it's already got some tears in it after sewing.....Dangit.

Hello everyone and Merry Belated Christmas! I got Wydowna and a surprise addition to the collection, Honey Swamp!

First up at an up close is Honey Swamp.

Her face paint is just beautiful with her toothy grin. the only thing that slightly bugs me is the line of white that runs around her iris but tiny nit pick. now her body is so freaking cool. I just thought her arms n legs had the vine effect going for them but it goes over her entire body (apologies the bottom two pics aren't so good).

There's also her hands and they are just gorgeous. she has a slight webbing going with the swamp vine thing continuing into them as well (need to fix my phones auto focus x.x)

Then her hair.

Just look at that FLOOF. Mind you I had to tease her hair back out since she had a bad case of flat head from being in the box. Aside from using the brush for getting her hair to floof back out I don't think it'd be a good idea to man handle her hair at all unless you wanna do a reroot.

Next up is her accessories!

Excluding the stand and hair brush she comes with some fun gubbins.

First up is the camera. It's kinda well made but still a little flimsy feeling. The way it was made left the inside hollow and as a result mine was a little squished in at the wider sides. I might give the "lense" and "view port" a bit of paint to make it looks a bit better since it looks weird having it all the same shade of grey, molded that way or not.

Then there's the lil' snappy thing....I don't know the actual name for this thing I'm sorry. ; w ;  anyway it's a lot more solid and has a tiny sprin (or feels like it) so it snaps back down on it's own. It also has a "hand hold" for the dolls but it takes a lot of finagiling to get a decent pose with it. works better as a decor item in my opinion.

Her dress I'm not really so fond of....it's mainly the skirt doing it since I'm not too into the "tattered" look of it but I do love the faux fur they used for the ruffle underneath. The dress she came in for me had a bit of the fluff sticking out while stitching though so she has a little furry fluff sticking out the back. Gonna trim or tug it out of the stitching later.

Honey swamp comes with a few accessories to wear as well. The tiny hat is just outright adorable though the belt could probably stand with a little paint to help some of it's detail stick out a bit more. Of course a girl has to have her jewelry too, coming with a pair of pearl earrings with a matching bracelet. Not pictured are her shoes. I can tell you they look like little gators though. I was too lazy to get up from my bed to get them.

Next up is Wydowna Spider and dear lord is she awesome. 

First off the obvious, she has a few extra parts in having six eyes and six arms.

 The neat bit is that each hand has its own individual sculpt. The only ones that bug me are the last two on the right. I'm not fond of molded on parts or the rock on hand since its a situational gesture. Wish she came with replacement hands too, but ah well.

I think her head makes up for it though and aside for the arms the other reason I'm in love with this doll. The face is just beautiful and well scultped. And her hair style while simple looks really really good. The second one is just me pulling it back enough to show the tiny sponge they used to give her that hair bump in the front. For this one it doesn't show through unless you make it so huzzah!

Getting back to her body for a bit how about showing off the shoulder joints? The arms slightly get in the way when you have them in all one direction for a pose but otherwise they move about very well together and apart. Due to the many arms if someone wants to make clothes for her she's a "special needs" doll. All in the extra arm room/sleeves.

Now onto her clothes and accessories. First up her clothes. Since she debuted at comic con her clothing definitely reflects it. The clothing has a comic or city backdrop scene on it including a comic book esque typography on her batwing shirt.

I'm actually kinda surprised they didn't put more "web" inspired stuff into her design but that'd be A) too easy and B) Starring at a comic con probably threw the wardrobe in it's current direction (thankfully if you ask me). Two of the shoes as far as I can tell are custom while the last boot pair is just ghoulia's shoes color swapped.

Onward to the accssories the iddy bitty accessoriiiies, eee~! Mkay first up is the bag.

I love this little lump of plastic. it opens up and you could put a couple things inside! Not much though since it has it's "connector" bits in there that hold it together in there as well. Least I think that's what it is.

 Here it is open and the little "flap" comes off if you try to pull it back too far but it's easy enough to slip back on. But this isn't the point at the moment. Right now its the detail, dear lord the detail.

the bag has a really nice "leather" print into it with lil molded on detailed pockets. Eeee the ittle pockets! <3 I like little pockets >x>;;

Next up are the belts. They don't really have anything that special going on but I do like the silvery bottom one. Might repaint it so it's black with silver "gromets" instead.

Last but not least are the iiitty bitty jewelry pieces. Her earrings are custom to the doll design and like her shoes have webs on them. Her bracelets are just recolored plastic bits from other dolls though I think the lil square ones are special to her. not really sure. And not pictured cause my phone was a derp was a reaaaaaaally small necklace that looked like it was a tiny wrapped chain.

That covers both of the dolls missing images aside (I'll try to add them later. Sorry!). See you guys in the next post where I cover prep for the Cleo doll.
